Regulated Weeds

Certain species are regulated under the Alberta Weed Control Act due to the significant threats they pose to agriculture, natural ecosystems, and biodiversity. Northern Sunrise County Weed Inspectors work diligently to detect, monitor, and manage these invasive species. The Act classifies regulated weeds as either Prohibited Noxious (must be eradicated) or Noxious (must be controlled).
