St. Isidore

St. Isidore is a hamlet located in northwestern Alberta, within Northern Sunrise County, approximately 12 km southeast of the Town of Peace River. Established in 1953 by ten families from the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, St. Isidore was the last community founded in Alberta during the post-World War II migration from Quebec. These pioneers worked hard to develop agricultural land and establish a vibrant Francophone community, which remains strong today.

The hamlet offers a range of cultural, recreational, and family activities for residents and visitors. The St. Isidore Museum and Cultural Centre highlight the area’s rich history, including the unique tradition of tapestry making. The community hosts music and dance performances, outdoor activities, and exhibitions, making it a lively destination with something for everyone.
