May 26, 2026 Council Meeting Minutes

News:

At the regular Council meeting held on May 26, 2026, Administration was directed to:

• Provide a letter of support to Mighty Peace Tourism for their grant application for the 2027 Northern Alberta Tourism Summit project.
• Provide a letter of congratulations to the new Ministers, including the Minister of Affordability and Utilities, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Minister of Assisted Living and Social Services, Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services and the President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance.

 

Presentations:

• Neil Harpe with Peace River Minor Ball Club 2024 provided a presentation and a request for donations for their batting cage project.
• Kathy Visser with the Peace River Art Hub provided a presentation and request for sponsorship for their River Days En Plein Air Custom Mural Painting Project. 

 

Policies:

• Council approved Policy 1.42, Access to Information and Protection of Privacy, as presented.

 

Donations and Sponsorships

• $4,000 to Peace River Minor Ball Club 2024 for their batting cage project, upon confirmation that the Club has secured the remaining required funding.
• $1,000 for the Peace River Art Club’s River Days En Plein Air Custom Mural Painting Project.
