October 13, 2026 Council Meeting Highlights
At the regular Council meeting held on October 13, 2026, Administration was directed to:
- Provide a one-year extension for subdivision application 21MK036 on SE.23.83.21.W5M, ending on October 14, 2027.
- Develop a Communication Plan to share the results from Seniors Housing Demand Assessment with residents, Heart River Housing, and North Peace Housing Foundation.
- Provide a Letter of Understanding reaffirming the County’s support for the Heart River Housing Capital Plan.
Bylaws:
Council gave first reading to Bylaw B487/26, for the purpose of Amending Land Use Bylaw B458/24 with the creation of two definitions: Data Centre, Large Scale and Natural Gas Power Plant, update Section 3.2 Development Permits Not Required, replace subsection 3 under Section 5.7 Data Centres, create Section 5.21A Natural Gas Power Plants, and add Natural Gas Power Plant as a discretionary use in the following Land Use Districts, Crude Oil Storage, Direct Control - Data Centre, Direct Control - Waste Management Facility, and Natural Resource Industrial, as presented. A public hearing will be held on November 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

- Ravi Sunkaranam, and Derek Weiss with Praxijile Consulting Inc., provided a Seniors Housing Demand Assessment report.
- Lori Moon of the Shamrock Boxing Club provided a Donation Request for the Shamrock Boxing Club.

- $3,600 to the Shamrock Boxing Club, for assistance with operations.
