September 22, 2026 Council Meeting Highlights
At the regular Council meeting held on September 22, 2026, Administration was directed to:
- Schedule a meeting with Minister Loewen at the 2026 Rural Municipalities of Alberta Fall Convention to discuss weed control concerns on Crown Land.
- Apply for the 2026/27 Alberta Community Partnership Program – Municipal Internship Program.
- Send a letter of support for Birch Hills County's application for the Alberta Community Partnership Grant to investigate the Regional Drainage System Files Project.
- Submit the Agricultural Service Board’s Resolution on expanding weather monitoring infrastructure and Operational Capacity in Northern Alberta at the 2026 ASB Regional Conference.
Policies:
Council approved Policy 4.7 Health and Safety, as presented.

Consulting Services, provided a Service Level Review Presentation.
Donations and Sponsorships
- $10,000 for the 2026 Nampa/Northern Sunrise County Christmas Gift Card Program.
- $550 to the Peace Regional RCMP Community Advisory Committee for the upcoming RISK Program.
- $1,000 to the Town of Peace River Library Board for the Festival of Trees Silent Auction Fundraising Event.
- $750 to the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association for their One-Day Forum.
