December 9, 2025, Council Meeting
- At the regular Council meeting held on December 9, 2025, Administration was directed to:
- Provide a submission to the Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission Public Hearing on January 15, 2025
- Send a letter to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services in support of the Alberta Sheriffs representation within the Real Time Operations Centre at K Division.
Council
approved the 2026 Strategic Priorities Chart.
Council also approved the 2026
Provisional Operating Budget as amended and the Capital Budget as presented.
Council
appointed public members to the Agricultural Service Board, the Watershed
Advisory Committee, and the Intermunicipal Weed & Pest Appeal Board; and
directed Administration to re-advertise for the vacancy on the Youth Council
Advisory Committee. The County website will be updated to reflect the new
appointments.
Bylaws:
- Council gave second and third reading to, and passed
Bylaw B473/25, to amend land use Bylaw B458/24 for the purpose of redistricting
approximately 10 acres from the Agricultural District to the Country
Residential District
- Council gave third reading and passed Bylaw B477/25 to Repeal Bylaw B455/24, Parks Committee.
- Council gave first and second readings to Bylaw B475/25 Council Procedural Bylaw. The third reading will be requested at the January 13, 2026, regular Council meeting.
Presentations:
- David LeBlanc, Director of Protective Services, provided a delegation to request sponsorship for the Alberta Provincial Rural Crime Watch Annual General Meeting.
Donations and Sponsorships
- $1,200 to the Alberta Provincial Rural Crime Watch for the afternoon refreshment break at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
