April 14, 2026 Council Highlights
News:
At the regular Council meeting held on April 14, 2026, Administration was directed to:
- Provide a letter to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services requesting clarification on the locations of the new regular and civilian members, as reported in the policy funding model.
- Share the 2025 FCSS Impact Resource through the County’s media channels.
Council approved the 2026 to 2029 Operations budget, as amended, and the 2026 to 2031 Capital budget as presented.
Council declared May 8-12, 2026, as International Economic Development Week.
Bylaws:
- Council gave first and second reading to Bylaw B481/26 Tax Rate Bylaw, as presented.
- Council gave first reading to Bylaw B482/26 for the purpose of redistricting approximately 37.18 acres, as presented.
- A public hearing will be held on May 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
- Council gave third reading to Bylaw B483/26 Prohibited and Noxious Species, as presented.
- Council gave third reading to Bylaw B484/26 Elevation of Weed to Noxious Designation, as presented.
- Council gave third reading to Bylaw B485/26 Intermunicipal Weed and Pest Appeal Board, as presented.
Policies:

- Policy 2.19 ALUS Program, as presented.
Donations and Sponsorships
- $1,500 to Peace River Community Futures for their 2026 SongRise Music Conference.
- $2,000 to the Grimshaw and District Chamber of Commerce for their 2026 Harvest Moon Festival.
- $1,000 to the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association, for their 2026 Annual Conference.
