February 10, 2026 Council Meeting Highlights

News:

At the regular Council meeting held on February 10, 2026, Administration was directed to:

  • Provide a letter of congratulations to the Skrlik curling team for their performance at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts held January 23 – February 1, 2026, in Mississauga, ON.
  • Provide a letter to MLA Dan Williams, in support of operational funding needs for libraries, and to discuss the provincial operating grant for public libraries and library services.

 

Bylaws:

  • Council gave third reading to and passed Bylaw B480/26, Bursary Review Committee.


Policies:

Council approved the following policies as presented:

  • Policy 1.39 Council Decision Making Framework, and
  • Policy 1.40 Council and Administration Communication Framework.

Council approved amendments to Policy 1.31 Public Participation


Presentations:

  • Ravi Sunkaranam and Derek Weiss, with Prajaxile Consulting Inc. provided a draft scope outline regarding Housing Needs, Growth Readiness, and Funding Pathways  Assessment, to assist the County in identifying housing needs.
  • Ken Drysdale and Charles Longmate, with Maskwa Medical Center (Canada) Inc., provided an update on their Maskwa Medical Centre project.
  • Melissa Geldart with the Sagitawa Friendship Society provided a report on their Mobile Outreach Street Team (MOST) program.

 

Donations and Sponsorships

  • $25,000 to the Sagitawa Friendship Society Mobile Outreach Street Team (MOST) Program transportation services.
