November 12, 2025, Council Meeting

News:

At the regular Council meeting held on November 12, 2025, Administration was directed to:

• Send a letter of support to Heart River Housing for the expansion of the Red Willow Lodge in Valleyview, AB
• Send a letter to the Premier and Minister of Advanced Education regarding Council’s concern about the closure of the Northwestern Polytechnic Fairview Campus.
• Send a letter to the Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission regarding Council’s concern about the proposed changes to the provincial Electoral Boundaries.
• Provide a letter to affected Municipalities regarding the regional collaboration of the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework. 

Council gave first reading to Bylaw B473/25 for the purpose of redistricting approximately 10 acres within Part of SW.7.85.19.W5M from Agricultural District to Country Residential District.  A public hearing will be held at the regular Council meeting on December 9, 2025.

 

Council approved the provision of $1,500 in the draft 2026 operations budget to support the Berwyn Agricultural Society Veterinary Bursary Partnership.

 

Council approved the appointment of Tayler Cottrell, Weston Horne, Rayne Keates, Bradyn Proud, and Kylie Stoelwinder-Smith to the Youth Council Advisory Committee.

 

Bylaws:

• Council gave first, second, and third readings to and passed Bylaw B476/25, Revised Youth Council Advisory Committee.

• November 25, 2025, Regular Council meeting, at 9:30 a.m.
• December 9, 2025, Regular Council Meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber.
• December 9, 2025, Public Hearing for Bylaw B473/25 at 10:00 a.m.
