September 4, 2025 - Energy Alberta is inviting community members to attend one of their upcoming community engagements sessions about the proposed Peace River Nuclear Power Project.
At each session, representatives from the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will also host an information table. They’ll be available to talk about:

response permitting the timeline suspension to Energy Alberta allowing for additional time for consultation and community awareness.

July 25, 2025 - Energy Alberta is conducting a series of environment field studies to support planning for the proposed Peace River Nuclear Power Project. For additional information, check out their

July 24, 2025 - Public comment period for the documents posted on June 9, 2025 is now closed. IAAC will consider the comments received to inform the preparation of the final guidelines and plan that will be issued to the proponent.
June 23, 2025 – Energy Alberta's
response to the Summary of Issues is available. A hard copy of this document is available at the Northern Sunrise County Administration Office for viewing.

April 16, 2025 — IAAC is making funding available to help Indigenous Nations and communities and the public participate in the integrated impact assessment process for this project. Applications received by May 16, 2025, will be considered.
