October 30, 2025 Organizational Meeting

 At the October 30, 2025, Organizational meeting, Ward 3 Councillor Claude Rodrigue was elected as Reeve and Ward 2 Councillor Jason Javos was elected as Deputy Reeve. 

 

Council appointed public members to the Agricultural Service Board, Economic and Tourism Development Committee, Family and Community Support Services Committee, Intermunicipal Weed & Pest Appeal Board, Municipal Planning Commission and the Northern Sunrise County Watershed Advisory. A complete list of all Boards and Committees will soon be available on the County website.

Any public member vacancies remaining from the County Boards & Committees will be advertised.

Council appointed Councillors to the above committees and boards, as well as several external committees. These appointments will also be included in the list of all Boards and Committees that will be available on the County’s website.

 

Bylaws:

Council requested that Bylaw B468/25 Youth Council Advisory Board be brought to the November 12, 2025, Council meeting for review.

  

October 30, 2025 Regular Council Meeting

 News:

At the regular Council meeting held on October 30, 2025, Administration was directed to:

• Send a letter to the Minister of Municipal Affairs regarding Council’s disappointment in Invest Alberta’s cancellation to visit the Peace Region the week of November 3 – 7, 2025.

 

Donations and Sponsorships

• $3,250 to the Peace River Curling Club for their Header Replacement Project.
• $500 to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 62, in support of Remembrance Day.

November 12 and 25, 2025, regular Council Meetings at 9:30 a.m. in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber.

November 24, 2025, Budget Meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber
