July 22 Council Meeting Highlights

News:

At the regular Council meeting held on July 22, 2025, Administration was directed to:

•  Send a letter of support to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation for their Canadian Facility Enhancement Program Grant Application for Ken Sargent House.   
• Send a letter of support to the Nampa & District Agricultural Society on their Community Facility Enhancement Grant application, for the replacement of the condenser at the Nampa Complex. 
• Invite Sovereign Digital Infrastructure and Woodland Cree First Nation representatives to a Council meeting to provide information on their proposed Data Center Project.

 

Council declared September 15 to 21, 2025, as Rail Safety Week in Northern Sunrise County.

 

Policies:

Council approved Policy 1.38 Generative Artificial Intelligence

 

Presentations:

• Clifford Mikula, Dion Marcoux, and Bobbie Toker, with the Nampa & District Agricultural Society, provided a presentation on the necessary facility enhancements at the Nampa Complex.

 

• Ken Drysdale and Dan Steinke with the Maskwa Medical Center provided an update on the Maskwa Medical Center project.

 

Upcoming Council Meetings:

• August 26, 2025, and September 9, 2025, regular Council Meetings at 9:30 a.m. in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber.
