News:

At the regular Council meeting held on January 28, 2020, Administration was directed to:

  • Dispose of Protective Services Unit 23018 2001 GMC Savana Passenger Van as per Policy 1.2 Disposal of Surplus Items.
  • Work with TELUS regarding County broadband and cellular services for grant opportunities.

Bylaws:

  • Council gave third reading to Bylaw B369/20 Council Meeting Procedural Bylaw.
  • Council gave first and second reading to Bylaw B371/20 Development Authority Bylaw as presented.  Third reading of the Bylaw will be requested on the February 11, 2020 regular Council meeting agenda.
  • Council gave first and second reading to Bylaw B370/20 Fire Services Bylaw as presented.  Third reading of the Bylaw will be requested on the February 11, 2020 regular Council meeting agenda.

Policies:

  • Council approved the amendments to Policy 3.17 Travel and Subsistence as presented.
  • Council approved the amendments to Policy 3.18 Council Board & Remuneration as presented.
  • Council approved Policy 5.7 Safe Driving as amended.

Presentations:

  • Graham Fleet with CCI Wireless provided a presentation regarding County broadband services.
  • Dominique Drouin with CIMA Canada provided a presentation regarding County broadband services.
  • Brian Krest and Bruno Peters with IBI Group and Chris Thompson with O-NET provided a presentation regarding County broadband services.
  • Brian Bettis with TELUS provided a presentation regarding County broadband and cellular services

Donations and Sponsorships:

  • $250 for the Clear Hills County Agricultural Trade Show on April 18, 2020 in Hines Creek, AB.
  • $500 to Good Shepherd School to assist with the transportation costs for the Gr. 6 Fieldtrip on May 26-28, 2020 in Edmonton, AB.
  • $2,500 for the Alberta Pond Hockey Championships on March 6-8, 2020 in Lac Cardinal, AB.
