PROPOSED BYLAW NO. B440/24

Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, as outlined in Chapter M-26 of the Statutes of Alberta, notice is hereby given that the Council of Northern Sunrise County will hold a public hearing prior to the second reading of Bylaw No. 440/24 for an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw B275/15.

The proposed Bylaw B440/24 amends the Land Use Bylaw B275/15 with the following:

Additions to Section 1.5 Definitions

  • Dwelling Unit, Tiny Home
  • Master Site Development Plan
  • Mixed Density Rural Residential District

Additions to Section 7.2 Land Use Districts

7.23 Mixed Density Rural Residential District

  • The addition of residential dwelling on land of lower agricultural value within the Mixed Density Rural Residential District.
  • The proposed district identifies the permitted and discretionary uses within the district.
  • It also identifies the requirements for redistricting applications regarding the number and timing of public consultations and plans including the requirement of a professional planner.

The Public Hearing is to be held on March 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the Northern Sunrise County office. Information regarding these amendments to the proposed bylaw may be viewed at the Northern Sunrise County office during regular work hours, Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or on the Northern Sunrise County website at www.northernsunrise.net.
