At the regular Council meeting held on April 23, 2024, Administration was directed to:
- Nominate the County and Councillor Boisvert for the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association’s 2024 Lieutenant Governor’s Leadership for Active Community Awards.
- Establish a committee with the County of Northern Lights, M.D of Peace No. 135, Town of Grimshaw, and Town of Peace River to promote nuclear energy development in the Peace Region.
Council proclaimed June 3-9, 2024, as Seniors’ Week in Northern Sunrise County.
Council appointed seasonal employees: Cloe Atkings, Keelei Bolduc, Caleb Dakin, Mitch Krecsy, Autumn Rosendal, Thea Thompson, Hailey Fortin, Paige Massier and Tristan Thompson as the 2024 Weed and Pest Inspectors for the period of their employment with Northern Sunrise County.
Council also appointed permanent employee Madison Fox as an Inspector and Soil Conservation Officer for the period of her employment with Northern Sunrise County.
Bylaws:
- Council gave third reading to and passed Bylaw B451/24 Tax Rate Bylaw as presented.
- Council gave second and third reading to and passed Bylaw B448/24 for the purpose of amending the Land Use Bylaw B275/15 to add the definitions, regulations, and dwelling of “teacherage” within the Hamlet Public District as presented.

- Alex and Glenn Moore with IWantWireless provided an update on their operations and universal broadband grant funding.
- Derek Young and Mae Stewart with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, Peace Region, provided an update on regional operations.

- $10,000 to the Nampa/Northern Sunrise County 2024 Christmas Gift Card Program.
