Media Release – For Immediate Release January 15, 2018

Northern Sunrise County is pleased to announce that construction of a new Primary Care Centre in the Town of Peace River, on land located near the Peace River Community Health Centre, is scheduled to begin later this year.

This project has been in the works for several years and is made possible through a regional partnership with the Town of Peace River, Municipal District of Peace #135, the County of Northern Lights, and Northern Sunrise County.  Northern Sunrise County has committed $5 million to the project over the next two years and will lead the construction of the Centre.

Northern Sunrise County is extremely pleased to be working with local physicians and Alberta Health Services (AHS) to provide this new Centre. When complete, the Centre will offer an innovative, patient-centered approach to the residents of the Peace Region.

Upon completion, ownership of the Centre will be transferred to AHS for operations.  Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2018.

More information will be shared with the community closer to the construction date.
