News:
At the regular Council meeting held on August 27, 2024, Administration was directed to:
- Request a meeting with the Minister of Municipal Affairs to discuss the Assessment Model Review.
Council approved the forgiveness of interest that was to be charged to the Smoky Applied Research and Demonstration Association in the amount of $4,584.50 on the $100,000 loan provided in July 2023 for the construction of their new facility.
Bylaws:
- Council gave third reading to and passed Bylaw B455/24 Parks Committee as presented.
Donations and Sponsorships:
- $1,000 to Miserable Miles for the 2024 Miserable Miles Event in Peace River, AB or equipment upgrades.
- $10,000 to the Salvation Army Food Bank to assist in replenishing its shelves and support families facing increased demand for food.
