News:
At the regular Council meeting held on September 24, 2024, Administration was directed to:
- Send a letter of support for the Maskwa Medical Center Board to the Alberta Minister of Health, requesting the Province to continue working with the Board to advance the project.
Council approved:
- The 2025 Council Meeting Schedule as presented.
- The Regional Energy Committee to apply for the Alberta Community Partnership Grant under the Intermunicipal Collaboration Stream to fund the Committee’s future regional communications strategy in collaboration with energy developers.
Presentations:
- Ken Drysdale and Charles Longman with the Maskwa Medical Center provided an update on the Maskwa Medical Center project.
- Ange Fricke, Steve Loukas, and Cliff Swadling with Obsidian Energy provided an operational update.
- Dave Dutta, Applicant, presented a development proposal for a redistricting application for Plan 1025376; Block 1; Lot 1, proposing a change from Agricultural District to Rural Industrial District to accommodate the potential development of a solar farm.

- $500 to Peace River Curling Club for the 2024 Multiple Sclerosis Fun Spiel event on November 23, 2024 in Peace River, AB.

- October 29, Organizational meeting at 9:30 a.m. and regular Council meeting to follow in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber.
