The following are the official results of the 2021 Municipal Election.

Fiona Whitehead – 9
Gaylene Whitehead (incumbent) – 57 – Elected
Incumbents Carolyn Kolebaba – Ward 1 Harmon Valley/Reno; Dan Boisvert – Ward 3 Marie Reine/Judah and Corinna Williams – Ward 5 Three Creeks/Wesley Creek ran uncontested and therefore were acclaimed as Councillors in their respective wards.
Official election results will be released at noon on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Running for Office in the Municipal Election?
Key Post-Election Dates
If you have – or are considering – submitting your nomination papers, here are some key post-election dates to keep in mind.
Tuesday, October 26: Swearing in – the Council-elect will swear the Oath of Office. They will also state for the Minutes that they have read and will abide by Council’s Code of Conduct. Once this is complete, the Organizational Meeting will take place.
Organizational Meeting: Council will nominate and vote on the Reeve and Deputy Reeve for the coming year. Council will also review and appoint members to the various Boards and Committees that the County participates in. A regular Council meeting will follow the Organizational Meeting.
Monday, November 1: Council Orientation – Munis 101. This is an overview of the duties of Council, an introduction to senior staff, and presentations on County operations. This workshop will be facilitated by Brownlee LLP.
Tuesday and Wednesday, November 2-3: Strategic Planning Session; Council will set the strategic priorities for 2022 for the County. This session will be facilitated by Dr. Gord MacIntosh.
Monday, November 15: Budget Meeting; Council will review the operational and capital budgets for the County for 2022.
**All orientation sessions and training opportunities must be attended by the Councillors as stated in the Code of Conduct Bylaw.
No later than January 30, 2022: Completion of the Municipal Elected Officials Roles in Emergency Management course. This is online and is a 2-4 hour commitment. Completion of this course is a legislated requirement of the Municipal Government Act.
No later than March 1, 2022: Campaign Disclosure Form must be filed with the Returning Officer.

The County is accepting resumes of people who are interested in working the Municipal Election on October 18, 2021.
Experience is not necessary; training will be provided. All hours worked, including training, will be paid at the rate of $25/hour.
