I moved to Marie Reine with my parents in
1963.My wife, Carol, and I raised our
two daughters on our acreage near Judah Cemetery Road.
Currently, I serve as the president of the
Marie Reine Hall and as a member of the cemetery committee. I have been
involved in many events, such as our annual Mother’s Day Brunch and Santa
Supper, as well as projects including the sports court, powered RV stalls,
picnic table, and new stove installation.The most recent projects have been the new swing set and bouncy pillow
at the park.
Caring deeply about our community, I have been
a part of several boards and committees in the County:
·East Peace
Water Co-op with 553 rural homes connected.I am a current member and have been on the board for 10 years.
·NEW water
Ltd., which operates the water treatment plant in the County.I have been a member for 7 years.
·Watershed
Advisory Committee/ALUS Program. I have been a member for 5 years.
·Municipal
Planning Commission.I have been a
current member for 4 years.
·Economic
Development and Tourism Committee.I
have been a current member for 11 years.
As a past member of our County’s Economic
Development Committee, we proposed a bold plan to Council to retain and attract
new residents in Northern Sunrise County by reducing residential property taxes
by 20% in 2023 and another 25% in 2024.
My vision for Northern Sunrise County is to
create a thriving, inclusive and sustainable community where every resident
feels valued and heard.
I am passionate about making our community a
better place to live and would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.Together, we can continue to build a vibrant
community.
