Tree Canada Programs
Tree Canada Community Tree Grants provide support to community greening, innovation and stewardship initiatives.
Strengthening the relationship between students and nature. Eligible projects receive up to $10,000 in funding to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials and developing education materials.
Since 1992, Tree Canada has greened more than 730 municipalities, Indigenous communities and business improvement areas. Eligible projects receive funding up to $10,000 to cover the cost of purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, site preparation, tree maintenance, planting materials and developing education materials. A wide range of project proposals are accepted, such as heat island mitigation projects, biodiversity corridors, stormwater retention, invasive species control, riparian planting, park and street tree plantings, and more.
The National Greening Program targets areas in need of reforestation or afforestation with mass seedling plantings. Growing trees where forests have been degraded – or where there was no previous tree cover – provides multiple benefits to nature, from ecosystem stability to cleaner air, water and soil.
Landowners benefit from Tree Canada’s extensive experience in project design, qualified staff and Forestry Specialists, our partnerships with conservation organizations as well as funding and support.
