Water & Wastewater Operator - Level II or III - Operations & Infrastructure Department

Northern Sunrise County is a vibrant and action-oriented municipality that is seeking to fill a position in its Water Utility Operations. If you enjoy working in an environment that encourages development, fosters growth and looks at the big picture, the Level II or III Certified Water & Wastewater Operator position will interest you.  This position offers an interesting and challenging range of duties involved in the operation of suburban and rural water and wastewater systems. The County operates a Level III Regional Water Treatment Plant, four Class II Water Distribution systems and two Class I Wastewater Lagoon systems.

The County is looking for an Alberta Environment Certified Operator with Level II Water Treatment and Distribution at a minimum, as well as wastewater certification. Prior experience in either conventional or membrane Water Treatment Plants and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) or distributed control systems (DCS) is required, as is a clean Class 5 Driver’s License. The successful candidate must be willing to work occasional overtime and adhere to the safe work policies of the County.
