Rural Industrial District "RM"

Purpose

The purpose of this District is to accommodate industrial buildings and uses which are considered appropriate in rural areas.

Minimum: 7.6m (25ft)

Side

Minimum: 10% of the width of the site or 6.1m (20ft), whichever is the lesser.

Design, Character, and Appearance of Buildings

The exterior finish is to be wood, metal, concrete, brick, stucco or other similar siding to the satisfaction of the Development Authority.

Landscaping

In addition to other provisions of this Bylaw, the Development Authority may require any discretionary use to be screened from view with a vegetated buffer strip and/or screening of a visually pleasing nature, satisfactory to the Development Authority.

Additional Requirements
  1. When reviewing an application proposal for an Industrial, Heavy Manufacturing and Processing Use, the Development Authority shall consider the following criteria;
    1. not sited on better agricultural land;
    2. proximity to major transportation routes;
    3. local infrastructure;
    4. compatibility with adjacent land uses;
 2. The Development Authority may require, but is not limited to, any of the following assessments to be submitted in support of a development permit application 
for any Industrial or Alternative Energy Development.
    1. an Environment Site Assessment;
    2. a Traffic Impact Assessment;
    3. a Noise Impact Assessment;
    4. an Air Quality Impact Assessment;
    5. a Geotechnical Assessment.
