September 9, 2025, Council Meeting

News:

At the regular Council meeting held on September 9, 2025, Administration was directed to:

•  Provide a letter to Mighty Peace Tourism in support of their Destination Canada Tourism Sprint Program grant application for their Northern Lights Experiences project.

 

Council accepted the Northern Sunrise County 2025 Municipal Census Report as presented.

 

Council approved the 2026 Northern Sunrise County Council meeting schedule.

 

Policies:

• Council approved amendments to Policy 1.30 Environmental Sensitive Lands Emergency Funding as presented. 

  

Presentations:

• Allison Yurko and Kevin Chrenek, Associate Wealth and Investment Advisors with RBC Wealth Management, provided a report on the Northern Sunrise County Investment Portfolio.
• Donna Dahm and Sally Barkwell with the Peace River Community Soup Kitchen provided an update on their operations.

 

Donations and Sponsorships:

• $5,000 to the Peace River Community Soup Kitchen

 

Upcoming Council Meetings:

• September 23 and October 14, 2025, regular Council Meetings at 9:30 a.m. in the Northern Sunrise County Council Chamber.
