Request for Proposal – Dog Control Officer (Cadotte Lake & Little Buffalo)

Northern Sunrise County is accepting proposals for dog control in the hamlets of Cadotte Lake and Little Buffalo as well as immediate adjacent areas of these two communities. Sealed proposals clearly marked “Dog Control in Cadotte Lake & Little Buffalo” are due on November 20, 2017 by 2:00 p.m. MST at the Northern Sunrise County Administration Building at 135 Sunrise Road, Northern Sunrise County.

  • Must be able to respond to either hamlet within a twenty-minute time
  • The contractor will respond to complaints regarding loose dogs within the hamlets of Cadotte Lake and Little Buffalo and the immediate adjacent areas, under the jurisdiction of Bylaw B295/16 (Dog Control Bylaw).
  • The Dog Control Officer shall maintain a Pound in a location approved by Northern Sunrise County and in compliance with the Bylaw, and in particular, shall be maintained in a sanitary condition providing for humane treatment of the animals impounded.
  • The proposal shall contain the following information, which will be used for evaluation:
    • All fees and charges, including but not limited to:
      • Hourly rate to respond to
      • Charge to house the animals in the above-mentioned Pound.
    • Experience with handling and managing.
    • Procedures on how the contractor plans to deal with dogs.
    • Equipment that will be required (nets, poles, transport cages, traps, etc.).
    • Proof of a vehicle and valid driver’s license, registration and insurance.
    • An indication of all insurances required to manage the contract.

The selection of the Dog Control Officer will be made using the criteria listed above.
