Garrett is married to Cynthia Tomlinson and they have 4 children.  He moved to Northern Sunrise County in 1993, where he lived in Ward 3 before moving to Ward 6.  He began working with the Lubicon Lake Nation in 2004.  Garrett studied Political Science and Native American Studies at the University of Lethbridge.  He is an EMT, and he and his wife are local business owners.  Garrett brings experience in political strategy, communications, and aboriginal governance to Northern Sunrise County.

Elected Official - October 1998

Carolyn was born in Peace River and raised in the Municipal District of Peace. She and her husband Mike operate a trucking company along with their sons in Northern Sunrise County. They retired from mixed farming in the spring of 2010 which they operated for over 30 years. Carolyn worked in the educational system as a Certified Teacher Assistant with a Structure of Intellect background.  Carolyn entered municipal politics in 1998, and was elected Reeve of Northern Sunrise County in 2000. Carolyn Kolebaba was elected as the first female Vice President for the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC) and served from 2005 – 2008.  In the fall of 2010, she was re-elected as Vice President.  Carolyn sits on the Clean Air Strategic Alliance  Board, Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association, R.W. Hay Awards, Government-Industry Joint Geophysical steering Committee, and Local Authority Pension Plan Stakeholder Consultation Group.  In her role as municipal Councillor, Carolyn is the Chair of the Northwest Corridor Development Corporation (NCDC) joint committee with membership that is comprised of Industry and governments in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and Alberta.  Carolyn is also on the executive of the Peace Library System and Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency.  Furthermore, Carolyn is the regional representative for the Northern Alberta Municipal Zone for Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). She sits on the Northern and Remote, Transportation, and Environment committees of FCM.  Carolyn is an active volunteer in her community and enjoys being around people. Her love for making the community a better place to live has her on a journey that she is very grateful for and greatly enjoys.

Ward 2 - Nampa

Elected Official - 2010

Marie was born and raised in Northern Sunrise County and has been a resident of Ward 2 – Nampa Rural District since 1992.  She was married in 1969 to Dave and they have 3 children, Angela, Mark, and Krystal. She also has 2 grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon and is now a proud great-grandma to Riley.  Marie has served on numerous committees over the years including being president of the first Kindergarten in Nampa and a hockey and figure skating mom for many years. She has worked in various jobs including grain handling, forestry, filing, waitressing, and cooking. She looks forward to serving the residents of her ward as well as working towards creating a vibrant, healthy community for all County residents.

Dan was born and raised in the Peace Country.  Dan and his wife Claudette have been residents of Ward 3 -Marie Reine/Judah since 1987 where they have enjoyed raising their three children.  Dan was elected Francophone School Board Trustee - 1994-97.  He is actively involved with the Marie Reine Community Hall, and has served a few terms as Club President. Dan is currently a Communication Technician with Alberta Environment & Sustainable Resource Development Forest Protection.
Norm Duval Norm Duval- Councillor
Ward 4 - St. Isidore

Elected Official - October 2013

Norm was born and raised on a farm in Jean-Cote and has been a resident of Northern Sunrise County since 1995.  He is a father to two wonderful children, Mathieu and Josee.  Norm attended Grande Prairie Regional College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and has been working as power engineer since 1990 in both the pulp industry and the oil and gas industry.  He achieved his first class power engineering certification in June 2013.  Norm has volunteered as a coach, referee, and in his children's schools.  He has been a member of the Economic-Tourism Development Committee and the Heart River Watershed Committee for the past 2 years.

Doug & Merna are long time residents of the Three Creeks ward. Doug is both a father and grandfather and has worked on the farm and in the oilfield.
