Administration

Administration includes all of the employees of the County who are responsible for implementing the policies and decisions of Council. Council must appoint a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) as the head of administration. He or she has a wide range of duties and responsibilities including ensuring that the policies and programs of Council are implemented effectively, advising Council of the operations and affairs of the County, and generally ensuring that the County is operating in accordance with the legislation.

To ensure that the County is operating effectively, the CAO draws upon the valuable skills and knowledge of other County staff. While the organizational structure, number of employees and actual titles of positions will vary between municipalities and Counties, some of the common areas of responsibility that you find at Northern Sunrise County include taxation and assessment, public works, planning, administration and agricultural services.
